Design for Impact (D4i) is a student-led club and start up focused on spreading design thinking and problem solving techniques to K-12 education. D4i regularly works within classes as well as with local social enterprises and social entrepreneurs to help them solve real social or environmental problems. You will be guided by expert design thinking facilitators (oops.. Avenues students!), experience the steps of the design thinking process in practice, and learn how students can be co-creators of meaningful solutions for real world problems. Conducting Educational Research in Schools

Are you interested in conducting research in school? Do you wonder how an idea might work in the classroom? If your answer is yes to either of these questions, this workshop is for you. In this workshop, we will focus on the principle tenets of conducting empirical research including: how to formulate an empirical research question and design a study to answer it. We will also discuss different methods and measures educational researchers use. The participants will get a chance to generate ideas and come up with research questions that spark their interest.
